This year marks the 36th anniversary of Hunger Walk Run – the event that takes steps in the fight against local hunger! Check out the 2020 Hunger Walk Run this Sunday, March 15th at The Home Depot Backyard!
The Hunger Walk Run, an annual 5K walk and “fun run” that began in 1984, is an event of the Atlanta Community Food Bank that unites our community to raise awareness and critical funds for local hunger relief. In its 36 years, Hunger Walk Run has raised over $10.7 million for hunger relief – enough to help provide over 42 million meals! Whether you choose to walk or run, you’ll join thousands of participants coming together to support our neighbors in need and celebrate achievements already made in the fight against hunger. The family-friendly, festival atmosphere at the Home Depot Backyard includes food trucks, games, educational activities, live entertainment and more!
Proceeds from the event benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank and other local nonprofit organizations that support food pantries, community kitchens, shelters and other programs for people in need of food assistance. These benefiting partner organizations help recruit participants and receive a percentage of the funds raised to support their direct hunger relief programs. In 2019, more than 10,000 participants came together to raise over $800,000 to combat hunger in our community!
This year, you can help make a real difference in the lives of your fellow Georgians by helping the Hunger Walk Run exceed fundraising goals. Take the next step and join in the fun this Sunday, March 15th! For more information, contact Hunger Walk Run at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (404) 419-1723.
If you feel like escaping Magnolia Vinings Apartments in Atlanta, Georgia for the day, this event is a perfect opportunity to do just that! Trust us when we say that there’s no harm in getting out and exploring the greater community.
