Georgia State University Opera Theater Presents A Little Night Music
Georgia State University Opera Theater presents its spring production of Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning, A Little Night Music, on April 13, 14, and 15, 2018. Celebrating its 45th anniversary this season, A Little Night Music is directed by Carroll Freeman, musically directed by Brian Osborne, and conducted by Logan Souther. Featuring performances by members of the Georgia State University Opera Theater and the Georgia State University Opera Orchestra.
A Little Night Music delves into the rampant relationships of the questionably elite society of 1900 Sweden that has already broken the mold but still has some “breaking” to do. Indeed, A Little Night Music is set in 1900, and has a milestone anniversary: its 45th.
Based on Ingmar Bergman’s movie Smiles of a Summer Night, this classic musical weaves tales of romance with lush melodies to create one unforgettable weekend in the country. There are too many twists and turns to tell its story here, but the Tony-Award-winning score and its witty circumstances are more than enough reason to celebrate this anniversary!
