Are you ready for a Wild Encounter? Go behind the scenes for an unforgettable educational experience that will bring you face-to-face with Africa’s apex predator at Zoo Atlanta! Don’t miss it this Saturday, December 28th at 2:30 p.m.
During Wild Encounter: Lion, you will accompany a Zoo educator around the lion habitat while discovering the challenges lions face in the wild before heading behind the scenes to meet a member of the “bachelor pride.”
For your safety, encounters will occur with protected contact, where you will not be in the same physical space with the animal but will feed them through a barrier. All participants will dip the bottoms of their shoes into a diluted bleach solution before entering the lion building; please dress accordingly. Participants must wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes.
Now more than 125 years removed from its historical origins, Zoo Atlanta has evolved from a quaint picnic stop where people visited wild animals to a conservation organization seeking to engage the public in the lives of its animal ambassadors and the preservation of their counterparts in the wild.
Zoo Atlanta saves wildlife and their habitats through conservation, research, education and engaging experiences. The zoo’s efforts connect people to animals and inspire conservation action.
Amp up your zoo experience when you add a Wild Encounter to your Saturday itinerary! All participants in the Lion Encounter must be at least 10 years old. Children 13 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult who has also purchased a Wild Encounter ticket. Full payment is due upon reservation for the Wild Encounter. Reserve your space online at www.zooatlanta.org.
